8 sleeps to go...

Hello everyone, hope you're all well.

First of all, thank you all for your lovely comments and birthday wishes last week.  I had a wonderful birthday, apart from the fact that I had to work, but the girls and I did go out for a lovely Italian lunch.  Hubby cooked Lamb Shank for dinner (my favourite) and we had a lovely bottle of wine with it.

OMGosh, I'm sooooo excited.  Only just over a week to go.  The deccies are up, the presents are nearly all bought, just a few left to get.  Are you ready for Santa?  I've got Christmas Eve off, so my daughter and I can do our annual Christmas baking, shop-bought mince pies and cookies just aren't good enough for Santa (so my husband tells me!)

I haven't had any time for crafting over the last week, but I am going to show you my super-quick and easy Christmas cards.  I made twelve of these, six in each colour.  When I say super-quick and easy, I mean it.  They are made up of a Martha Stewart snowflake, a JustRite circular border stamp cut out using a Spellbinders circle die and then a glittery background to match the snowflake, cut out with a Spellbinders scalloped circle die.  Stick it all together and you're done.  Told you it was easy.  I make a couple of sets of these each year for friends, but we do make sure not to send them to the same people!

I've also been messing around with my beads, and have made some little Angels.  I'm probably going to turn these into little key charms to give to friends amongst other little bits that I fill a box with.  I also made this super-cute little snowman one, I really like this one, and may well just keep him.

Anyway that's it from me.  I probably won't be around much now for a couple of weeks, what with family commitments and the BIG DAY itself.

Lots of love, stay safe and have a wonderful Christmas.  xoxo

Christmas Eve

Hello everyone, hope you've all been well.

Christmas is just around the corner.  It's my birthday on Wednesday, which means only 13 sleeps 'til Christmas after that,  Woohoo!  Can't wait, I'm sooooo excited.  Honestly, just a big kid really.

But there is no way I'll be fast asleep like the little boy in this image.  I'll be wide awake, waiting to hear Santa's sleigh bells.

Anyhoo, onto my card today.  I've used LOTV Christmas Eve - Boy.  He's been coloured with copics and a little coloursoft pencil for shading.  I used a spellbinders mega scalloped oval to cut the image out and mounted it on a spellbinders floral oval cut out in a dark burgundy coredinations cardstock.  Not sure where I got the spotty background paper, it was just in my scraps drawer which I matted onto some gold foil paper.  The ribbon is from Berisfords and I added a little Santa charm.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

It's been a few months since Milo last put in an appearance and, as he was being a bit of nuisance this morning playing on my desk and generally getting up to mischief, I thought I'd snap a couple of pictures.  Of course, I never quite catch him in the act on camera, he always looks soooo innocent!

Here he is looking all innocent after attacking the big shot.

This is after he finished attacking stuff on the shelves... see no-one would believe me!

Aha!  Caught in the act.

Obviously it's all been too much, so where does he choose to sleep?!!
No more crafting for me until he gets up!

As the festive season approaches I'm sure more and more of us will have little or no time for crafting and blogging, so I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Prosperous New Year.   xoxo

Make a Wish

Hello everybods, hope you're all well.

I made this card for my SIL's birthday, which has now been and gone so I can post it now.  I used Krafin Kimmie's Dandy Lion.  My SIL LOVES dandelions.  She's been coloured with copics.  I added some glossy accent to her eyes and plenty of glamour dust.  The backing paper is Make a Wish from Raspberry Road.  I used a Spellbinders Label 17 to cut the image out and matted it on some brown coredinations CS.  The lace and flowers are from Wild Orchid.  I added three little Woodware punched butterflies with some tiny pearls, some handmade gold twirlies, a couple of Martha Steward Branch punches and a couple of the pearly things from my candy win from Claire.  The sentiment is from LOTV, stamped on kraft card and mounted on a flower die cut I had hanging around with a little gold stickles around the edges and that's it.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Pretty in Pink Christmas Angel

Hello all, another Friday flown around already, Christmas is looming ever closer and so today I have another Christmas card to show.

I've used Bugaboo's 'Ava - Mistletoe Fairy'.  She's been coloured with copics.  I cut her out using Spellbinders mega scalloped oval and mounted her on Spellbinders Floral Oval cut out in kraft card.  I'm not sure where I got the white embossed backing paper, I just found it lying around in my Christmas papers bag.  I added a couple of red jewels as the berries on the holly.  I used a Magnolia Doohickey to make the Poinsettia which I cut out in white card, dusted the edges with a little spun sugar distress ink then embossed using WOW clear sparkle embossing powder, then embossed again with clear embossing power, LOVE how this looks, then just added a pearl to the centre.  The flowers are all from Wild Orchid with a little star dust stickles on the edges of the petals.  I made some more twirlies, this time using Jones Tones Scintillante Diamntina glitter, they don't look quite as sparkly in the picture as they are in real life.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Just 17

Happy Friday everyone, hope you're all well.  Well Christmas is fast approaching and I still have a mountain of cards I need to make, but for a change I've made a birthday card.

I made this card for my daughter's best friends 17th.  I've used the beautiful Rose Red which was a freebie from the totally lovely Krista Smith at Saturated Canary.  She's been coloured with copics and coloursoft pencils.  I added some glossy accent to her eyes and a few drops of Viva Decor ice white pearl pen.  The image is matted onto plain black cs.  The backing paper is from Imagine DIY which is also matted on plain black cs.  I cut out four motifs from the Spellbinders Parisienne Motifs set and used them to make a sort-of frame.  The clouds are Memory Box Puffy Clouds and the glittery 17 is from a set of peeloffs.  The ribbon is Berisfords from Jaycotts and that's it.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Bearded Gnome

Hello everybods, hope you've all had a great week and are ready for the weekend ahead.

Today I've made a card using Bearded Gnome by VildaStamps available from Live & Love Crafts.  Now this little fella got himself lost in the post and didn't turn up for two weeks.  I think he was off helping Santa.  But he turned up eventually, so all's well!

He's been coloured with copics and cut out with a Spellbinders mega scalloped oval and mounted on a Spellbinders floral oval cut out of kraft card.  The pom-pom trim and background paper (Landstoken Christmas Tree - Teal) are from Live & Love Crafts, the sentiment is from LOTV cut out of kraft card and mounted on a Memory Box snowflake which was cut out, embossed with white glitter WOW embossing powder, had a light dusting of Tumbled Glass DI and them triple embossed with clear embossing power, you can't see very well in the photo, but it looks enameled, LOVE IT.  Behind the snowflake is some pale blue seam binding and fine ribbon from my stash.  I tied a couple of little silver bells onto some fine blue twine and stuck that on top.  The flowers are all Wild Orchid with a touch of Star Dust Stickles and I made little ice blue twirlies from some flowersoft paper covered wire, which I coloured with B00 and then coated in Crystal Art glitter.  I also added one my handmade hatpins.  The pearly things are from the candy I won from Claire (thanks soooo much hun, I'm loving everything in it).  I got a little carried away with this card, but I really love how it turned out.  This card is about to go visit my friend Stephanie for Christmas.  Hope he doesn't decide to get lost in the post AGAIN.

Ho-Ho-Ho

Hi ya, I'm back.  OMGosh, who turned the heating off!!  It was 24° when I left Spain, beautiful and sunny, now my teeth are chattering and I have icicles hanging from my nose.  We had a lovely week and the weather was fabulous.  Here are a couple of piccies...

Anyhoo, onto my card today.  Here's another of my Stamps Happens images.  This one is called 'Ho-Ho-Ho Birds' by the artist Carolyn Shores Wright.  They've been coloured with copics and plenty of glitter.  I love the dead-smug look on the birds face on the right.  The papers are a combination of Craft Creations Ltd and I'm not sure who makes the holly embossed paper.  The ribbon is Berisfords from Jaycotts and that's it.  About as Clean & Simple as I get.

It's Magic

Helllooooo, hope you've all had a great week.  My working week ends today as we fly off on a family holiday to Spain tomorrow morning.  Sooooo looking forward to a little sunshine right now.  I'm not taking any 'tech' with me either, no mobile, no laptop, no tech except my Kindle and IPod.  Heaven.

I've pulled out another Stamps Happen stamp called 'It's Magic',  This image features the fairies from 'Falling' & 'Floating Softly'.  I think this is my favourite of the Frances Mahon images.  They've been coloured with copics and mounted on Bazzil Basics cs.  The backing paper is again Prima's Firefly (completely addicted to this paper).  The lace is from Wild Orchid, the pearls and ribbon are from my stash and I bought the beads from Live & Love Crafts recently.  The sentiment is from Whimsical Designs Whimsical Fun Vol. 1.  I really like how this turned out.

Show Ur Stash - Punches

Hello all

This time over at Shop at that Craft Place, the girls want to see how you store your punches.  I don't have any particularly well-organised method for this, I pretty much just throw them in here...

but I do think it is quite pretty.  I picked the basket up in a little boutique-style shop in Rochester and I absolutely love it.  I have debated putting in my bedroom (the basket, not the punches!), but seeing as I actually spend more time in my craft room I get to see it more where it is.

I keep my bigger, less well used punches, in a drawer.

That's it from me.  If you would like to join in, here's the link:

Take care and I'll be back soon.  xoxo

Candy Winner & A Haunted Housewarming!

Happy Halloween!!  (Almost)

Before I get to my card this week I need to announce the winner of my followers candy.  I would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of you (new and old) for your continued support and kind comments, I love hearing from you and visiting you all in return.  As I still don't know how to use the random generator thingy I printed out all the comments, cut them up and put them in a pot.  The winner was picked by my beautiful assistant Emma (before she dashed off to work this morning).  So without further ado...

the winner is (drumroll please)...

Kanda (aka Andrea)

Congratulations Andrea, could you please email me at cwillis323@gmail.com with your snailmail address as soon as possible.  I go on holiday on Friday 26th for a week, so if I don't hear from you by the time I return on Friday 2nd November I will draw another winner.

So, onto my card today.  I made this for a friend who moves into her new house next weekend and seeing as it's Halloween I combined the two and made this.  Luckily she loves Halloween, although I did have to make sure that there weren't any spiders, she's not so keen on those.  Hopefully she won't pop in and see it (she should be far too busy packing!)  Yes, the image is slightly on-the-tilt, but I decided I quite liked the "up hill" effect!  I coloured with copics and created the background with Distress Inks, an Ink Duster and a mask.  The backing paper was sitting in my stash, so not sure where it's from.  The ribbons are from my stash.  The backing papers and image are both mounted on plain black cardstock.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

There's No Place Like Home...

...For the Holidays.

Hi all.  Today I've used another of those beautiful Stamps Happen stamps I told you about.  This one is called 'There's No Place Like Home'.  I used copics to colour on Neenah classic card and mounted the image on some red mirri paper.  The backing paper is from Craft Creations Ltd, the ribbon is from my stash.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid with a little gold stickles added.  I made the little twirly things from the flower stalks and some red glitter.  I've added a Memory Box Frostyville die cut, lots of Star Dust stickles and glossy accent to the lights and baubles and that's it.

Falling Softly

Yeahhhhhhh!  It's Friday.  WoooHooo.  Not that I'm excited or anything!!

Todays card has been made using another of my old Stamps Happens stamps, the partner image to 'Floating Softly', which I posted  last week.  This one is called 'Falling Softly' by the artist Frances Mahon.  I've used my new Firefly Prima paper as the background paper and coloured the image with copics to match.  I put a few dots of Viva Decor Pearl Pen and glitter here and there to add a little sparkle.  The ribbon is from my stash and the butterflies are a little Woodware punch.  I haven't added any further embellishments because I intend giving this to a friend who isn't keen on embellishments.

It looks a little wonky in the picture, but it is straight in reality!

Floating Softly

Morning my lovelies, Friday at last, hope you're all well and have had a great week.

This week I've made a card using one of my very first stamp purchases.  This beauty is called 'Floating Softly' from Stamps Happen by the artist Frances Mahon.  I first saw this image in a Dutch stamping magazine.  When I bought her Stamps Happen stamps weren't widely available in the UK and I had to buy her from the US.  I bought a few others at the same time and have stamped some up to colour and will show you those over the next few weeks.  I love the detail and magical feel of these stamps.

She's been coloured with copics on Neenah classic card.  I admit I coloured her before I picked the paper, so the colours aren't quite a match, but I still like it.  The backing paper is Firefly by Prima and I've used Memory Box corner bow flourishes.  Again, she's been kept simple because she will be winging her way to Australia shortly.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Hello my lovely bloggy friends, hope I find you all well on this incredibly dismal Wednesday afternoon.  I'd like to say hello and welcome to all my new followers.  I hope you enjoy your visit and come back often.

This week over at Shop At That Craft Place the lovely ladies are asking to see how you store your patterned papers.

Here's mine
I bought this when we decided to make our front room into our craft/photography room, this is where all my 12 x 12 papers live.

This is where all my smaller paper pads live.

... and this is where the scraps go, I keep each colour group in a separate bag and Christmas papers get their own bag too, makes it easier to find what I'm looking for rather than having to wade through all of it.

Here's the link if you would like to join in: http://shopatthatcraftplace.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/show-ur-stash_23.html

Hope you all have a great week (even if it is slight soggy).  See you soon.  xoxo

Why are Pirates called Pirates?

They just Arrrgghhh!  (Sorry, really old Christmas Cracker joke that always makes me chuckle!)

I've made this card for my Nephew's 2nd birthday.  The image is Pirate Bear by Lili of the Valley, he's just sooo cute.  I bought this image because it reminds me of when my brothers were little.  They could made just about anything out of a cardboard box!  He's been coloured with copics and coloursoft pencils.  He was cut using a Spellbinders large circle die and mounted on a matt cut from brown core'dinations card stock using Spellbinders large scalloped circle die.  The papers are from Nitwits Land Ho Too and mounted on the same core'dinations cardstock.  The little sentiment is from Cardcraft mounted on a piece of gold mirri card.  I wrapped a piece of red/white twine around to finish it off.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Noel Ducks

Helloooooo, hope you're all having a great week.  OMGosh hasn't it turned cold.  I think my heating may be going on a little early this year.

Anyhoo, onto my card today, yet another Christmas card for my stash done.  This time I've used Duck-Noel by Penny Black.  Another of my oldest stamps.  They've been coloured with copics and layered up on gold and red mirri card and a piece of Craft Creations Ltd paper.  The ribbon is from my stash and I attached it with a small gold glittery brad.  That's it really.  I've kept it simple as it will have to go in the post.

Riley's 1st Birthday

Morning all, hope you've all had a great week.

This week I had to make a card for our nephew's first birthday (well, actually, he's our Niece's son, so not quite sure what that makes him, is there any such thing as a grand-nephew?)  Anyway, I thought it gave me a very good excuse to use this gorgeous image from Lili of the Valley.  His name is Little Lorry Bear.  He's been coloured with copics and coloursoft pencils.  I added a glittery "1" to the balloon and then drowned the thing in glossy accent.  I used a Spellbinders Labels Fifteen to cut the image out and matted it onto a piece of Core'dinations cardstock.  I found the backing paper in my drawer of scraps, so not sure who it's made by.  The sentiment is computer generated and cut out using a Spellbinders label die.  The ribbon is from my scraps stash.  This is a very simple card, I think my mojo took a little hiatus while I was making it, but it turned out ok.

Case It - First Blogged Christmas Card

Hi ya

Over at Christmas Stamping All Year Round they're asking for your first ever blogged Christmas card.  So off I went to find mine, and here it is

I started this blog in January of this year and I made my first Christmas card in January (crikey!!).  I only had a handful of lovely followers and this card got seven comments back then.  I can definitely see a massive difference in my colouring.

The image is by Nellie Snellen Giving Away.  She was coloured with copics.  The papers are Nitwit Collections Joyful Hearts Too, the sentiment is from LOTV, the flowers are Wild Orchid, the small snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch and the large snowflake is Memory Box die.  The pearls are from my stash.

Here's the link if you would like to join in the fun.

Five Little Snowmen Sitting in a Row

Hello, how ya doin' today?

Not much news to report.  Milo is going for his second injection this morning, so he will be able to go exploring the garden today.  He's very excited.  I'll try and get a few pics if I can.

Today I've made another Christmas card to add to my ever-growing stash.  The stamp is Let it Snow Snowmen from Whipper Snapper.  I've had this stamp for many years, so don't know if it is still available.

I lightly coloured them them with copics and coloursoft pencils.  The backing paper is from Craft Creations Ltd.  I think it was a Create & Craft purchase many moons ago.  I also used some Core'dinations cardstock.  The flower has been made using the Spellbinders Anemone flower, I cut the flowers out of white parchment and added some crystal art glitter around the edges and a large crystal in the centre.  There is a piece of pale blue seam binding running behind the image and flower, but you can't really see it, I was going to put a bow, but it just didn't look right.  There's a little glitter here and there and that's it.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
That's it from me today, thanks for stopping by and leaving such lovely comments, I really enjoy reading them.  xoxo

Christmas Bunny

Hello

How was your week?  Nice and short.

Today I've made another Christmas card.  I've used Mo Manning's Bunny with Gift, available from Stamping Bella.  I love this little bunny, he reminds me of a rabbit we used to have called Bob.  He was absolutely gorgeous.  He behaved more like a dog than a rabbit.  Anyway, on with my card.  The papers are from Memory Box Mistletoe collection, the ribbon is from Jaycotts.  He's been coloured with copics and the little pearl dots are Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Ice White.  I used my usual crystal art glitter on his hat.  I've kept this card very simple as I've made it to send to a friend who lives abroad so want to keep the postage costs down. The greeting is a peel-off sticker.

Show Ur Stash - Stamps

Hi ya

I'm back again with another Show Ur Stash.  This week the girls at Shop At That Craft Place want to see how you store your stamps.

I have several different type of storage for different types of stamps.

This is an overall picture of my stamp storage.

Here's a close-up of my LOTV and other packaged stamps.

This is how I keep track of my digital stamps.  I print out smaller images and put them in business card holders, this way I won't forget what I've got 'cos I can see them all.  I also keep single unmounted stamps in these folders on laminated sheets.

These folders house all my Stamping Bella stamps and also all my Mo Manning stamps.

Wood mounted stamps go on my shelves.  I don't use these as often anymore, but I still like to look at them.

Well, that's how I store mine, why not pop along and join in.  Here's a link:  http://shopatthatcraftplace.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/show-ur-stash.html

Hope you're all having a great week so far, take care. xox

Today I'm here to tell you about their amazing candy

All you have to do to enter this fabulous candy is become a follower (if you're not already) of the Craft Barn blog, place a post on your blog and put a link on their blog post.
