Here comes Summer

Hi there, hope all is well with you today.

Well, I've been playing with some of my new stash this morning.  I've made a card using my very first Saturated Canary image, Springtime, which I downloaded from KristySmith's new site.  I've printed her on Neenah cardstock and coloured her with copics.  The Neenah card is actually pretty good and I will probably buy it from now on.  The copics blended nicely with no bleeding.  I used Spellbinder dies to cut the image out and inked the outside with Tumbled Glass DI with the die still in place.  I've also used Little Claire's bunting stamps for the happy birthday bunting stamped on a variety of core'dinations cardstock.  The papers are Papermania Lucy Cromwell.  I made the little lace flower by cutting a length of guipure lace (Wild Orchid) and putting a running stitch through it and gathering it up to form the flower, I really like how this turned out.  The little flower in the middle is Wild Orchid with a little crystal stickles.  Simple, but effective.  I also used my new Memory Box Elegant Scollwork die, but I cut it up a little to suit my needs.

I'm hoping to enter my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Swag

Morning all, thank you for your lovely comments, and YES, I had a fabulous time at the craft fair yesterday.

The weather's looking a bit grim today but apparently we're expecting summer to arrive by mid-week (according to the not-so-reliable weatherman), so that's something to look forward to.

I have today off, I always take the day off after a craft fair.  Well, it would be a bit of a drag if you had to wait a whole week before you could play with all your new bits, wouldn't it!!  Here's a piccie of all the lovely new stuff I got.
Plenty of white card stock, a couple of packs of Neenah super smooth card, (I've never used this before but it's considerably cheaper than the stuff I normally use, so I'm going to give it a go.  I'll let you know what I think of it.  Some Little Claire stamps, several different glues, some ribbons, a pack of Papermania paper, a pack of Papermania Lucy Cromwell stamps, some Little Claire tag cards, a Crafters Companion Boxer, a Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork die, a couple of packs of some very pretty lace, a new white gel pen and a new quickie glue pen (which ran out last week) and I came home with money still in my purse (unheard of in previous years).  I also bought a Pan Pastel.  I was going to get three, but they didn't have the two other colours I wanted, so I shall have to order those.  Anyway, I'm off now to start playing with my crafty swag.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.  oxo

A Little Gift Box

Morning all,

I'm off to the Sincerely Yours craft show at Biggin Hill this morning with my SIL, but I just had time to show this first.  I made this little gift box this weekend.  I found the template whilst flicking through old magazines, you can download it from www.craftstamper.com/templates.  It's dead simple (it'd have to be, I made it!!)  I've just bought a necklace and bracelet set for a friends birthday and I think this will be ideal to package it in.  I cut a piece of 12 x 12 DCWV French Country Stack down to A4 so it would go through the printer and photocopied the template onto the reverse of it.  Then it was just a case of cutting it out, folding and glueing.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid and the ribbon is from my stash.  I added some rhinestone stickles to the flowers and a few blobs of Viva Decor pearl pen in Ice White.

Anyhoo, here it is, hope you like it.

I'd like to enter my little box in the following challenge:

Birthday Fairy

Morning all, hope you're enjoying this beautiful sunny weekend.  It's been absolutely gorgeous here in North Kent this weekend, I even got all my washing out on the line yesterday.

So onto my card today.  I've used LOTV Birthday Fairy.  The papers are Raspberry Road Moments in Time mounted on Core'dinations cardstock.  The image has been coloured with copics and I added Crystal Art Glitter to her wings.  The lace and seam binding are from Wild Orchid and the hat pin and cabochon handmade by me.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Yippie Kay Yay

Hello, yes it's me with an almost mid-week post.  Had today off to extend the long weekend a little.

Today I've made a boys card.  I think it's the first one on my blog.  I've never been particular keen on making boys cards, 'cos up until recently I could never find an image I liked.  But, LOTV and Nellie Snellen have been producing some gorgeous images and I really love them.  Today I've used Nellie Snellen Jippie Yeah.  He's coloured with copics and you'll be pleased to hear that I haven't put any glitter on him AT ALL!  The papers are downloaded from Raspberry Road 'Cowboy Cool' matted onto some Core'dinations brown cardstock.  The button (which I thought looked a bit cow-hidey) and twine are from my own stash.

I thought I might enter this card into the following challenges:

Winter Fairy

Hello everyone, hope you're having a fabulous bank holiday weekend, despite the weather.  This week I've made yet another Christmas card for my stash.  I saw this gorgeous little fairy on another blog and just had to hunt her down.  This is Winter Fairy Talva by Mo Manning available from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I started by stamping my image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and cut her out using Spellbinders large circle die and inking around the edges with tumbled glass distress ink whilst leaving the die in place.  I created the large snowflake effect by cutting out several Marianne D snowflakes and gluing them to the back of a large scalloped spellbinder die cut in the same glitter card.  She's coloured with copics and had plenty of Crystal Glamour Dust thrown at her.  I've used Shabby Xmas Blues papers downloaded from Stamping All Day, printed on Epsom matt photo paper.  I also used Marianne D frosty border.  The sentiment is from Whimsical Designs 'Snow Much Fun' cut out using X-Cut label dies, the ribbon is from my stash.

I'm hoping to enter my card into the following challenges this week:
