Lavender Fairy

Hi ya, I hope you've all had a good week and are enjoying your weekend.

Todays card was inspired by the sketch at Papertake Weekly, but I've turned it on its side.  The image is my latest purchase from Sugar Nellie, Jasmine.  Isn't she lovely?  She's been coloured with copics and crystal art glitter.  I've used lavender shades for this, which is way out of my comfort zone, I'm not keen on purples usually, but this turned out ok.  The DPs are also a new purchase from Maja Design called Vintage Summer Basics.  The lace and flowers are from Wild Orchid and the little jeweled bee is from Imagine DIY.  The sentiment is a peel off sticker.  A few dots of liquid pearl and some pearls in the top right corner just to balance it out and all done.

Deck the Halls

Hi ya

Today my card is very simple.  I stamped and embossed my Papermania 'A Christmas Carol' stamp and white cardstock and matt and layered it onto pink Core'dinations and silver mirri card and that matted it onto more white and silver mirri.  The gorgeous pink organza ribbon a from a candy I won from Del a little while back and the crystal button is from Imagine DIY (if you haven't visited this website yet, go! It has some stunning buttons and embellishments).  I added a few little crystals to the corners and all done.  I really like how this turned out, hope you do too.

Let it rain

Hello

Me again, how you doing today?

It's been a manic week for me.  Work has been mental.  Traffic has been horrendous, so I haven't been getting home until stupid o'clock (and it's only going to get worse with the Olympics just around the corner)... groan!!

Anyway, on with my card today.  Today I've made a tri-fold shutter card.  I'm still not sure about this one.  There seems to be an awful lot of spaces that need filling.  Still, let me know what you think.  I've used Krista Smith's Saturated Canary image 'Let it rain' (thought it was quite apt considering the weather we've been having recently).  She's been coloured with copics.  I added a little glossy accent to the rain drops and her eyes and little glitter to the flowers on her brolly and boots.  The papers are from Papermania Lucy Cromwell.  I used a Spellbinders Labels Seventeen to cut a blank for somewhere to write a message.  The flower is made of bits and bobs, all Wild Orchid and a Martha Stewart branch punch.  I finished it off with a few woodware punched butterflies here and there and some blue crystals.

Before I go I just wanted to show you a picture I took of my daughter and her friend before we went to my niece's engagement party.  My daughter, Emma, is the one on the left.  Don't they look beautiful.  Ok, I'm biased, I know.

Many thanks for stopping by today, hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.   xox

Everybody needs a hug!

Hi, hope you've all had a good week, but I'm really happy that the weekend has finally arrived.  I'd like to say 'Welcome" to my new followers and really big thank you to you all new and old for all the lovely comments you leave.  I love reading each and every one.

It's been a strange week in the Willis household.  My husband has been away all week on a photography holiday with friends.  It's the first time in 17 years that we've spent a whole week apart.  I've decided I don't like it very much.  Anyway, he'll be home tonight and house will look like a bomb went off, but I'm sooooo looking forward to him being home.

Anyhoo, onto my card for today.  As part of my resolution to try and make cards that aren't just square, today I have made a 4-drawer easel card.  Ok, it is still square, but it does have a little more to offer.  I was amazed and just how easy this was.  I found a tutorial on-line and away I went.  I used Core'dinations paper to make the little drawers and base and MME Lost & Found Blush papers.  I used little resin roses for the drawer 'knobs'.  The image is LOTV Never too old for a hug, coloured with copics and crystal art glitter on the wings and cut out with a Nellie multi-frame and Spellbinder scalloped circle.  The flowers, lace and seam binding are all from Wild Orchid.  The hat pins are mine.  A couple of little Woodware punched butterflies and sentiment and it's all done.  Now I just have decide who to give it to and find four very small gifts to put in the drawers!!

Party Hardy

Morning all

Hope you all enjoyed the long weekend (in the UK) last week.  I've had the week off and have been playing in my craft room and catching up on some reading.  I also managed to squeeze in a little gardening in between all those showers and actually during one or two too!!  I'm really hoping that the storms that have been forecast don't do too much damage.

Onto my card today then...  I've used Party Hardy from Saturated Canary.  I have become a massive fan of Krista Smith's images lately.  She's been coloured with copics and had a little glitter here and there and glossy accent on her eyes and the cherry.  The backing paper is from my stash, so not sure who it's made by.  I added a couple of little woodware punched butterflies and the sentiment is from Whimsical Designs Everyday Stamps stamped with Versacolor Green Tea ink.  In an attempt to try something different I've made a sort-of diamond fold card, which I made from a piece of Core'dinations cardstock.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  I decided not to add any embellishments as I want the card to fold flat into an envelope.
Sorry for the quality of the photo, there wasn't much light this morning.  If I get a chance I will try to get a better one.

Ava

Hello,

Well in true British Bank Holiday tradition the weather has been well and truly dismal, but right now we have blue skies and the sun is shining.

Today I've used the freebie from Saturated Canary last week, Ava.  I've completely fallen in love with this image.  I wasn't sure where I was going with this card when I started.  I started back-to-front, by colouring the image first.  Normally I pick my paper first and try to colour co-ordinate to that.  Ava's been coloured with copics.  I've used Josephine papers downloaded from Raspberry Road.  I dotted some Viva Decor pearl pen in ice white around and added some Tumbled Glass DI around the edges.  I made an easel card and used a Martha Steward border punch.  The lace and ribbon were picked up at the Sincerely Yours craft show at Biggin Hill the other week.  I don't know who makes them, sorry!  The clouds and flourish are both Memory Box dies.  The balloon has had a little glossy accent added.  The flowers are Wild Orchid with a little crystal stickles.  I really like how this turned out, hope you do too.
