Introducing...

... Milo
This is Milo behaving

... and this is Milo NOT

Milo was one of the presents we gave Emma for her birthday last week.  She's been begging us for a ginger kitten for ages, and we finally caved.  He's soooo cute.  Emma had a great birthday, thank you all for your lovely birthday messages, she was dead chuffed by the number of well-wishers.

Anyhoo, onto my card today.   Once again I've used Saturated Canary's Ava.  I really love this image.  I'm working on getting over my fear of using darker colours.  You may have noticed that my cards are pretty much all pastel in colour tone.  So today I've tried to go darker.  I started with colours I'm comfortable with and then used C5 and C3 to darken them and added more colour to deepen it.  I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out, but I've still got a long way to go before I'll consider this mastered.  I distressed the edges of the image and clouds with Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky DI.  I added some glossy accent and glitter to the balloon.  The papers are a combination of Crafty Individuals Background Papers 'Book 1' and Core'dinations cs.  The ribbon bow is from my stash of bows that I make with scraps.   The flowers are Wild Orchid the punched leaves are out of a box of bits, the cloud dies are Memory Box.  The butterflies are a little Woodware punch and the little jewels on them are from Mei Flower. The sentiment is from Whimsical Designs Whimsical Fun Vol.1.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Isabella's Christening

Hello there, hope you've all had a good week.

Saturday will be my baby's 16th birthday.  I can't quite believe that 16 years have gone by so fast.  I couldn't be prouder of my daughter, she's grown into a bright, strong, confident and beautiful young woman.  My only birthday wish for her is that she lives life the fullest and pursues her dreams with an open heart.  Happy Birthday Baby.

Emma didn't want a full-on birthday party, so we've got all the family coming around for a bit of a get-together.  I may even get a few photos to post.

Anyhoo, onto my card today.  I was asked last week to make a Christening card for a friend's grandaughter.  Which means I got to use LOTV's Baby Christening image which I coloured with copics.  I've had this stamp for an absolute age, but never had the opportunity to use it.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid, the ribbon is from Jaycotts, the jewel in the middle of the largest flower is from Imagine DIY.  I made a small hatpin too.  The sentiment was printed on the computer and that's about it for this card.

Beach Babe

Hello everyone, hope you're all enjoying your weekend.  I am.  My boss has just gone on holiday and with my holiday added it means I won't see him for 4 1/2 weeks, woohoo!!

My card today is a slight departure from my usual offerings, in colour, style and image.  It's not pink and it's not particularly girly.  Today I had a go at another style I've never tried before, a crossover card, it was really easy to make and I think I'll be making many more.  The image I've used today is 'Gladys' from the Golden Oldies range by Art Impressions, isn't she a BABE!!!.  This is me in a few more years.  I already have the 'curves'  hehe!! and it won't be long before I have the grey hair to go with it.  The papers are from Prima's Jack & Jill paper stack and core'dinations cardstock.  The sentiment is also from Art Impressions.  I used a Dienamics die to make the flower and Martha Stewart branch punch and some other punched leafy bits I had hiding in a box.  I used a Martha Stewart lace border punch.  The ribbon and crystal are from my stash.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Birthday Ava

Hello

My SIL introduced me to a new website which is absolutely fabulous if you like to buy ribbon in more than just 1m lengths.  http://www.jaycotts.co.uk/ offers a wide selection of sewing paraphernalia.  Ribbons come in 20m, 25m and 30m rolls and they're not expensive.  I bought two 20m rolls of 7m wide double-faced satin for just £3.67 each (which works out at about 18p per metre) and, for just 39p you can get sample cards like this...

... isn't it fab.  I colour matched the colours I wanted to my copic pens, so I'm certain that my ribbon matches my chosen colour perfectly.  Go check it out.

Anyhoo, onto my card today.  I've made a scalloped circle easel card.  I really must get myself the grand calibur, this is a little small and limits what I can do with it.  I like how it turned out, but it would have been nice if it were a little bigger.  I've used Krista Smith's Saturated Canary image 'Ava'.  I think this is my favourite SC image so far, I really love her.  She's coloured with copics and I added some glossy accent to the balloon.  The papers are from my latest paper purchase Maja Design Vintage Summer.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid and the ribbon is from Jaycotts ;O).  The crystals are from ebay and I added a couple of woodware punched butterflies.  The sentiment was party of a freebie set with a magazine.

CME 1st Birthday Challenge

Hello everyone, hope you're all ok.

This card has been made to enter the Copic Marker Europe 1st Birthday Challenge.  I chose Saturated Canary's Traveling Copics by Krista Smith for my image.  She's coloured with copics (of course!)  The papers are Pion Fairytale of Spring Violet.  Having said in the past that I'm not purple person, this particular shade of purple has really grown on me.  The lace and ribbon are from my stash. I've used Little Claire's bunting stamp in the background

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  xox
