**WARNING** - lengthier post than usual!!

Hello my lovely bloggy friends.  How is everyone?  All well I hope.

I can now reveal the reason for my sporadic appearances in blogland over the last couple of months.  The Crafty Snug is no more... Unfortunately, my husband and I outgrew the snug and so have had to swap our rooms around.  The snug is now the lounge and we have moved into the back room which was originally our dining room before it became the lounge and we changed the lounge into the craft room.  Confused?  So was my husband when I revealed my plan.  But it's all worked out beautifully.  Here's a pic of my side of the room.  We are about to buy a new dining table and chairs, which are gorgeous, so I might update the picture when we get them, but this is how it looks right now.

I won't show you my husband's side of the room as it is very untidy and not pretty at all.  In fact, I'm not sure it should be allowed!!

So, hopefully now I can resume my crafting on a more regular basis.

In the midst of the chaos that has been my life for the last couple of months I completely missed my first anniversary in blogland.  I started my little blog in January of 2012 and have had an amazing year.  Making new friends and learning sooo much.  Thank you all for your support over the last year.  I will be putting together a little candy shortly to celebrate, so keep your eyes peeled.

So moving on...

My visit to the hypnotherapist was a colossal failure!!  Unfortunately, I'm still smoking.  But, never give up trying to give up, that's my new motto.

My card today is for my friend's birthday.  I've used the Saturated Canary digi image 'Bubbles'.  She's been coloured with copics and I added some crystal art glitter, glossy accent and little dots of pearl.  The papers are from Prima's 'Divine' paper pad.  The little butterfly is also Prima 'Divine'.  I made the little flowers from the same papers and some core'dination card using Heartfelt Creations 'Vintage Floret' dies.  The lace is from Live & Love Crafts and the little pearly swirls are from Hobby House.

A little birdie...

Hello everyone, hope you've all had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend.

Thank you for all the lovely comments you left me last week, I really appreciate them.

I went to a craft fair last Friday at Farnborough with my Sister-in-law.  We spent plenty of money and bought lots of lovely stuff.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of everything to show you, sorry!  We then spent the best part of last Saturday playing with said crafty stash.  This is what I made...

I bought the birdcage from Anna Marie Designs at the Farnborough show as I thought it would make a great gift for my friend.  It comes as plain MDF wood and can be decorated with virtually anything.  I used Frantage Embossing powder in Shabby Green to cover the birdcage itself.  I covered the little bird with patterned paper (sorry can't remember from which pad) and added 'some' feathers for his tail, he is rather exotic!!  A blue jewel for his eye and some Frantage Embossing powder in Shabby blue finished him off.  I then decorated the rest of the birdcage with some moss-type stuff, some dried flowers and pearly beads on wire and some little roses from Hobby House.  They were originally ivory, but I airbrushed them with a RV10 copic.  The flowers on the left are a combination of Wild Orchid and Hobby House flowers with a little stardust stickles and the rather large hatpin is one I made as a bit of a joke, but I rather like it on this project.

That's it.  Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Take care and have a great weekend.  I'm off to see a Hypnotherapist tomorrow in the hope that it will help me to give up smoking.  I shall let you know how I get on.  xoxo

Hazel & Nutty

Hello everyone, how ya doin'?  I'm so sorry that I haven't been around much over the last couple of months, but hopefully I'm now back to my normal crafty self and will be around to visit you all very shortly.

Anyhoo, onto my card today.  I made my cousin Sonia's birthday card.  I've used Hazel & Nutty by Sugar Nellie available from Funky kits, this is a digital stamp.  She's been coloured with copics and crystal art glitter.  The papers are from Kaisercraft.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid and Hobby House, with a little star dust stickles added.  The seam binding and lace are from my stash (probably from Wild Orchid) and I also added some pearly swirls from Hobby House.  The glass bead is from my stash too.
