Wryn Grow A Little Love

Hellooooooo.

Hope you are well and have had a wonderful weekend.  Lots more rain and thunderstorms on Saturday, but the garden seems to be enjoying it.  Yesterday was lovely though, feeling a lot fresher.

Today I have used Wryn Grow a Little Love from Tiddlyinks, totally into Tiddlyinks at the moment.  She's been coloured with copics on the X-Press It colouring card.  I did colour the whole image and then found the card which I'd been playing around with sitting on my desk and decided she'd do perfectly for it.  I made a sort-of flap card.  The papers are from Kew Floral Paper Stack.  I used a spellbinder edgability die and a little bit of ribbon from my stash.

Hope you like it.

Christmas in July

Hello all, hope you're all keeping well.

Did you enjoy the thunder and lightening earlier in the week. It certainly made the temperature more bearable.  Although I'm not sure I like the soggy Milo I had!  Wet kitty prints throughout the kitchen and dining room!!

Well it's been a while since I managed a card for Sarn's Rudolph Day challenge, http://stampingforpleasure.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/rudolph-day-july-2013.html, but here I am.

My card today features Snow Chickies from Denami Design.  A full list of products used to create this card is at the bottom of this post.  The berries are Magnolia from Live and Love Crafts.  The papers were scraps from my drawer.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges as well as Sarn's Rudulph Day Challenge:

My First Time...

... with Distress Ink Markers.

I've had a mentally busy week at work and have barely had time to sneeze.  My boss is now away for three weeks (alright for some!), so looking forward to a bit of a rest.

This weekend was my daughter's 17th birthday.  Oh my goodness, the years have flown.  Where did they go?  I am now officially a middle-aged woman!  How the hell did that happen?  Surprisingly, Emma still wanted to keep up her birthday tradition of going to the War and Peace show with her dad (honestly thought that would have been dropped).   My brothers and their families both came to visit and drop off cards and presents.  So all-in-all a very busy weekend.  Luckily I have Monday and Tuesday off to play in the craft room.

Anyhoo, on with the show...  I really love the soft delicate effect given by colouring with Distress Ink markers and have admired many others' work where they've been used, in particular Elise from http://paperloveaffair.blogspot.co.uk/, Elaine from http://atechnophobesblog.blogspot.co.uk/ and Squirrel from http://squirrel10.blogspot.co.uk/ (although I think they use a combination of the markers, reinkers and ink pads).  So, I bought myself a set of markers and they sat on a shelf intimidating me for quite some time.  Last weekend I printed myself off an image and got out the Distress Ink markers.

I'm actually really happy with the results. I've still got a LOOOONNNNNGGGGG way to go, but for my first attempt, I'm happy.  Definitely need to work on the hair!!

I've used another of my new My Bestie images by Sherri Baldy, this one is called Suzy Shamrock.  Isn't she sweet.  The papers are the new limited edition Sofiere from Maja Design available from Live and Love crafts.  A list of products used is at the end of this post.  The lace is from my stash and the berries are Magnolia available from Live and Love Crafts.

Have Yourself A Chickie Little Christmas

Hi all.

How's everyone doing today?  No cases of sunburn I hope!

I recently treated myself to some super-cute little Chickie stamps from Demani Design.  Such sweet little fellas.  Postage and tax costs are a bit steep though.

My card today features three of my new stamps, Elf Chickie, Reindeer Chickie and Santa Chickie.  The sentiment is from Whimsical Design and was cut out using a DieNamics die.

I added a little red jingle bell and a bit of light green twine.  Another simple, postable Christmas card for my stash.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Messy Jessy

Hi all, hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the "summer".

Hubby was home on Saturday, so we spent most of the day in the garden, tidying up and getting rid of all the rubbish that seems to accumulate, bought a few more plants for the garden. We also fired up the barbecue for the first time this year.  A very pleasant day.  Hubby isn't home many weekends because he works a five day on, three day off week, so I have to wait four weeks to get any of those "hubby" jobs done.  Poor darling, there is usually quite a list!!

My card today is for a friend's little girl, who has her birthday at the end of the month.  I've used Sherri Baldy's My Besties - Messy Jessy image coloured with copics on X-Press It blending card.  I've coloured her in my facourite colour combo of blue and pink and used my favourite papers of the moment.  I first discovered these images via Jane's Journal who had used "Belinda Beehive" in her post here http://jane-janesjournal.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/returning-with-fanfare-my-3rd-gd-card.html. I have now started seeing them pop up all over the place.  You can buy the My Besties images here http://www.etsy.com/shop/SherriBaldy.

Links to most of the products used are at the end of this post.  The lace and doily are from my stash.
