Have Yourself A Fabulous Little Christmas

Hi everyone

Well, it's been an interesting week in the Willis household.  On Tuesday last week Trev started trying to talk me into a new pet.  By Friday he'd finally worn me down and on Saturday we took delivery of a pair of very tiny, baby Eye-Lash Geckos.  They're very small and very cute.  We've named them Flash and Florence.  Here's a piccie, sorry about the quality, the light wasn't very good!

Anyhow, onto my card today.  It's that time of the month again, yup it's Rudolph Day over at Sarn's Stamping for Pleasure, here's a link: http://stampingforpleasure.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/rudolph-day-august-2013.html.  My card today features my newest stamp purchase, this beautiful dress from Katy-Sue Designs.  I've used my beautiful new PATP punch from Martha Stewart Snowflake Swirls which I got from Create and Craft and just a few tiny gems.  I've gone for a more simple style this time.

Once again, sorry about the picture quality, the light was rubbish!

Hope you like it.

Christmas in August

Hi all, hope you all had an amazing weekend.  I had a lovely quiet one, did a bit of crafting.  Did some sewing too.

Did anyone watch Kirstie Allsop's show earlier this year "Homemade Home"?  One episode featured Emily Peacock and a pair of her cross-stitch cushions.  Well, I had to have them and I have finally completed one.

It still needs stuffing, but I couldn't wait to start the second one.

Today's card follows the Bingo board at http://fussyandfancychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/challenge-95-bingo-board.html

from which I've chosen the top row - Flower, pearls, blue.

I decided to crack on with my Christmas cards.  The image is Saturated Canary's Tilly.  The papers are last years Landstoken Merry Christmas which I bought from Live and Love Crafts, but I can't see them on the website, so I don't know if they're available anywhere now.  The pearls and ribbon are from my stash and the berries are Magnolia from Live and Love Crafts.

I've been practicing again with those Distress Ink markers and Reinkers.  I think I've done better with the hair this time!

Hope you like it.

Frilly Lily

Afternoon everyone, hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

Guess what I did on Saturday?  I went and picked up my daughter's new car.  Yup, Daddy got her a car.  And guess what?  It's black and has five doors and was well within her budget!  Unbelievable!  How is it, that when I go shopping with something very specific in mind, I can NEVER find it.  Anyway, I picked it up on Saturday as both hubby and daughter were working.  Needless to say, Emma is extremely excited and started badgering me to take her out as soon as she came home. HELP!!

Milo was also quite entertaining this weekend, he usually is, but this really made me chuckle...
He actually climbed right up inside the chimney, then out again, covered in all sorts!

Anyway, enough of that.  My card today features Frilly Lily from Sherri Baldy's My Besties images.  I was playing around with my Distress Markers and Reinkers and this was created.  I really liked how it turned out and so I made a card with it.

You may (or may not) have noticed that I don't often use purple, of any hue, much in my crafting.  I think this stems from my childhood.  I remember being about 12 and having to wear THE most hideous pair of polyester purple trousers.  Obviously, I was traumatised by this!  Having said that, I really like this card. She kinda screamed out for purple papers and these Maja Design Vintage Spring papers are just too pretty not to be used.

Hope you like it.

A full list of ingredients is at the end of this post.

Wryn again

Hello everyone, hope you're all well.

So, Friday saw my daughter's first driving lesson.  She really enjoyed it and was bouncing around when I got home from work squealing because Daddy had said he'd take her out to look for a car.  I found myself channeling my mother... "when I started driving, I had to pay for all my own lessons, buy my own car..." etc!  We finally came to the agreement that we would buy her a CHEAP car so long as she paid for her insurance, tax and fuel etc.  So off she went with Daddy to look at cars.  She's decided it has to be black and it has to be five door (not narrowing her options at all then!).  They didn't find anything on this trip (shock!) but she's already booked him for another round of car forecourts today.

Anyhoo, on to today's card.  I needed to make a super-quickie birthday card.  I already had this lovely Wryn image from Tiddlyinks coloured up and I needed a card for a friend who was popping round for a cuppa and I'd completely forgotten her birthday (I'm a terrible friend!!)

So this is a very simple card.  A bit of Kraft card, a piece of designer paper, the image backed onto more Kraft card and a few pearls.  I really like it though.  Sorry about the wonky picture!
