My First Scan N Cut Cards...

... Almost!

Hi everyone, I'm back as promised with my first completed cards made on the Brother Scan N Cut.

I love how these turned out.  Simple and pretty.  And best of all, they fold up nice and small, so no extra postage costs.

The sentiment embellishments are Tim Holtz.  The ribbons and gems are from my stash.  They've been cut from a variety of card and papers.  I've been so impressed with this machine.  It did take a little bit of playing to get the blade depth and number of cuts right.  For example, cutting layered card, such as adorable scorable or Miri, I had to cut twice, the first time on blade depth 3 and the second time on blade depth 6.  This gave a beautifully sharp cut with no bits fraying.

I got the cutting file for this card free from http://www.birdscards.com. This is an absolutely brilliant blog.  Bird gives cutting files and digi stamps away completely free.

I'm off to Farnborough on Friday with my SIL to the Make-It + Knit & Stitch craft show.  So very excited, I'm having crafty shopping withdrawal symptoms.  You know how it is!!

I'd like to enter my cards in the following challenges:

CAS Verse

Afternoon all, hope you're all enjoying your weekend.  Trev has been home this weekend, I've had a little time to play with my Scan N Cut, which I will blog later in the week.  It was lovely to have him home.

I made this card a couple of weeks ago (before the SnC arrived) for a friend's birthday.  I really like how it turned out, I think pink/black might be a new favourite colour combo.

I kept it very simple, so not much to be said about it.

No Shell Like Home

Hello everybods, hope you're all well.

Sorry, I wasn't about last week, but I do have a very good excuse.  I was off last week and took delivery of my lovely new Brother Scan N Cut machine.  Oooooooh!  It's fabulous, I've been scanning and cutting all sorts of things, although nothing on this card.  Such a shame that I have to come back to work!!  I put a post on soon of all the bits I've been making.

Anyway, moving on to my card this week.  Whenever I get a new image I stamp it or print it out several times and put them in a box in one of my drawers.  Then when I'm in the mood to colour I rummage through the box and pull one one.  This one is by Sugar Nellie called No Shell Like Home available from Funky Kits.  She's been coloured with Copics.  I'm fairly certain the papers are Pion, but I didn't take note of which ones, sorry!  The backing card is Coredinations.  The ribbon is from the wonderful candy I won from Hazel and the sparkly thing is from Hobby House.

Oops...

Hello

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend, it was lovely to see some sunshine this weekend, no matter how short-lived it may be.

My card today didn't go quite according to plan.  My measurements were a bit off!  But, I still like how it turned out, which is how it made it onto my blog and will be going to its intended recipient who will be turning 50 in a couple of weeks.

The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Birthday Greetings 2.
